Summary

Cairo morning-glory, also called mile-a-minute vine, is a fast-growing climbing plant native to tropical Africa and Asia. It has twining, hairless stems that reach several meters, palmately lobed leaves with 5–7 lobes, and large funnel-shaped flowers that are purple, bluish purple, or white with a darker center; corolla measures about 4.5–6 cm, and seeds are 4–6 mm.

Under cultivation, it prefers full sun and warm temperatures in well-drained soil with regular watering. It is commonly grown as an ornamental and for covering slopes, walls, and other structures. Propagation occurs by seed and stem fragments, and movement via garden waste can spread it; trellising and regular pruning help manage growth, while it can be invasive in some regions.
