Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work with any phone?

Our labels work with most modern smartphones. Known Labels require an iPhone 7 or greater with iOS 14 or greater (released in 2020), or Android devices that support NFC and contactless payments like Google Pay.

What if it doesn't work with my phone or I can’t figure it out?

We’re here to help! We’d love to do a video call with you to help you get started. And if you’re dissatisfied for any reason, we have a 30 day money back guarantee.

Do I have to pay for an ongoing subscription?

That’s up to you! Every label you purchase includes our Basic plan, which allows you to store basic details and images for your plants. If you’d like to track the history of your plant or use other Leafy features, we’ll have additional tiers for a reasonable annual subscription.

What’s Leafy?

When we originally launched, we were named Leafy, but decided that Known better describes what we do.

How does the plant information get onto the labels?

It doesn’t, really. Each label holds a unique URL that identifies the plant. You enter the information about the plant yourself, so it can work with any plant.

Do I need a label for every plant?

Not at all. We use the labels in our own gardens, and usually only put one label next to groups of plants. You can also use the labels to mark a bed or arrangement and then note the details of individual plants in the description.

Do you have a mobile app?

Not at this time, but our website is optimized for mobile usage. While it would be great to have a mobile app, we like the simplicity of not requiring any sort of installation.
