Summary
Collomia grandiflora is an annual herb in the phlox family native to western North America, it has erect, sometimes branched stems with long lance shaped leaves and dense terminal heads of tubular flowers about 2 to 3 cm wide, ranging in color from white to yellow or orange (often salmon to peachy salmon) with blue pollen on the stamens, and capsules containing sticky seeds, in cultivation it prefers full sun with dry, well drained soils, is drought tolerant once established, and is easy to grow with minimal maintenance, it self seeds readily and works well as an ornamental in native plant gardens, meadows, borders, or containers, attracting bees and butterflies, propagation is by seed, with seeds sown directly in the garden, and the plant has no serious pest or disease issues.
