Summary

Native to the Eastern Cape, South Africa, this small slow-growing succulent forms compact rosettes of thick green leaves with white horizontal bands on the outer surfaces and smooth inner surfaces, rosettes reach about 5 to 8 inches tall and 6 to 8 inches wide, prefers bright indirect light with partial sun after acclimation, grows best in a well-draining cactus/succulent mix, follow soak-and-dry watering, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings, during the growing season water roughly every 2 to 4 weeks and very little in winter, temperatures range from about 60 to 85°F (15 to 29°C) with a minimum of 50°F (10°C), humidity is low, offsets enable easy propagation, repot every 2 to 3 years, generally pest-resistant with occasional mealybugs, suitable for indoor displays, terrariums, desert/rock gardens, and container plantings
